Dear Sisters,

As the global situation with the novel virus known as COVID-19 persists, I thought it would be beneficial to share where the national organization stands. At the moment, we are taking a proactive approach following government and academic institutional guidance to assure our sisters, prospective members, along with family and friends within the community stay safe.

In adhering to such guidelines and ensuring all necessary precautions are taking place, Gamma Eta Sorority Inc. has decided to momentarily and indefinitely pause all intake in schools that have effectively canceled classes. All undergraduate chapters reside in institutions that have closed or have gone remote as a result of the virus, and therefore all official Gamma Eta events will also be canceled for the remainder of the semester for safety purposes.

In addition, all official business-related travel has also been canceled, including for intake events and conferences that were set to take place in the coming months.

We are monitoring all undergraduate chapters closely and adhering to university and government guidance and regulations as updates continue to roll in.

The National Executive Council strongly encourages all alumni leadership teams and the general sisterhood body to consider implementing these same drastic safety measures and adjust their plans accordingly.
