ATTN: Sisters of Gamma Eta
FROM: The National Executive Council
Gamma Eta Sorority’s National Executive Council would like to share information on the “Director of Chapter Development” proposal created in 2019 that has passed through the organization’s voting process.
The purpose is to establish a position(s) on the National Executive Council dedicated to developing all chapters with a special focus on at-risk chapters and colonies. The position will be responsible for assisting colonies in gaining chapter status, help iron out growing pains as the chapter gains new sisters and growing membership, assist with recruitment and recruitment training, and utilize and update the Chapter Resource Manual to teach a colony or new chapter how to function as an entity of Gamma Eta.
The position will fall under the National Executive Vice President and be fulfilled via an application process. The Chapter Development Director can create their own committee of sisters dedicated to developing chapters, upon the approval of the National Executive Council. Sisters in these roles will serve one year from the date they assumed the position.
It’s important to note that the NEC chose to create the new position. The first person to occupy the position is Yokaira “Valeria” Vizcaino, Fall 2014 Alpha Chapter sister and this will be an addition to Herstory as the NEC along with Yokaira develop the role.
